19th Century Jewelry

Collection Info
Group shot: 02.91-4

The 19th century was a moment of great creativity for jewelry. In the United States and Europe, jewelry was a reflection of art movements, cultural happenings, and the avant-garde. The examples of revival jewelry (Renaissance revival, Classical revival, etc.) in the MFA’s collection are a key strength. New acquisitions include great works of fine jewelry by American firms like Tiffany & Co. and examples of novelty and innovation from the era.
