Contemporary Jewelry

The MFA acquired its first example of contemporary jewelry in 1913 and, for more than one hundred years, has continued to value and acquire works by living jewelry makers. Nearly one hundred years later, a donation of more than 600 examples of American and European jewelry from the 20th and early 21st centuries further strengthens this area of the collection. Today, the MFA has one of the world’s best collections of jewelry and continues to add works by jewelers working today.
