A great strength of the jewelry collection lies in its ancient Egyptian and Nubian holdings. Many of these outstanding ornaments were excavated by the Museum in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Over the last one hundred years, this world-class collection has drawn many visitors to the MFA and inspired countless exhibitions and publications.
