On medium-thin laid paper; this impression seems to have been taken after the lower left corner of the plate was beveled off
Provenance17th or 18th century, probably purchased by either Philip Herbert, 5th Earl of Pembroke (b. 1621 - d. 1668), or his son Thomas Herbert, 8th Earl of Pembroke (b. 1656 - d. 1733), Wilton House; by descent to their heirs, including Reginald Herbert, 15th Earl of Pembroke (b. 1880 - d. 1960), who sold 16 albums that contained the print collection; July 5-6, 1917, Wilton House sale, Sotheby's, London, lot 46, purchased for £46 by the MFA . (Accession Date: October, 1917)
