ProvenanceSaid to have been found in Subiaco, Italy. By 1915, with Hubert William Gallandt (b. 1899 – d. 1928), New York; 1916, sold by Gallandt to the MFA for $1000 [see note]. (Accession Date: July 20, 1916)

NOTE: The head was first offered to the MFA in 1915. H. W. Gallandt sold it on behalf of an anonymous owner, and reported that it was found at Subiaco.
