ProvenanceBy date unknown: with Edward Perry Warren (according to a letter from John Marshall they [01.8254-01.8255] were purchased from Rhousopoulos with other fragments that had been stored in a cabinet with a note saying they were from the tomb of Dexileos in the Dipylon, Athens; see also Warren's records for the three fragments from the Dexileos tomb acquired by MFA in 1898 [98.934-.936] where he noted Rhousopoulos said at the time of the find he was not able to persuade the museum to take all the shards. Half went to the museum, where they were mixed up with other pieces; half to himself); December 1901: purchased by MFA from Edward Perry Warren
