InscriptionsMain band, base of neck: "Work of Abu Bakr son of al-Hajji Jaldak, apprentice of Ahmad son of Umar son of Kamil, known as al-Dhaki the engraver of Mosul, in the year 622 [1225 AD]. Long life to its owner." Outer raised rim of candlestick base: "Lasting might and growing success and ?? and ascending luck and God's blessings in eternity and rising luck and helping destiny and sweeping victory and enduring good furtune and perfect integrity and ...[damaged area]...and wide authority and lasting life to its owner." Graffito, inner rim of candlestick base: "The Vestiary of [al-Malik] al-Mas'ud" Graffito, outside of candlestick base, above a pictorial medallion: "For a lady [under the supervision] of 'Afif al-Musaffari"
