ProvenanceInscribed on front flyleaf: "Eleanor P. Knowles / April 25th 1858 / Lima"; unidentified collector's inscription dated Nov. 17, 1909; Marjorie L. Hamilton, by whom given to MFA, October 13, 1982. Donor's[?] note indicates that Eleanor Knowles's father was on a sailing vessel around Cape Horn ("She with him to Peru").
