Description
Most widely known as a printmaker, Mazur is an artist who has worked in many media and range of styles.  His earlier paintings from the mid-1970s were highly detailed and based on close observation, but in more recent work, such as this painting, are freer and looser in both technique and imagery.  The landscape and atmosphere near the artist's homes in Cambridge and Provincetown have served as inspiration for this work which evokes the natural world rather than describes it.
