[1] According to a note in the will of Mrs.Sargent, during the arrangements for purchase, customs and shipping of the painting, the Franco-Austrian War broke out and the painting was sent to Leghorn (Livorno, Italy) before being shipped, several months later, to the US.

[2] The painting was accessioned as a work by Lodovico Caracci.
