NOTES:
[1] Mrs. Fitz wrote to Arthur Fairbanks, Director of the MFA (February 16, 1910), offering as a gift "the portrait by Goya that is now on exhibition at the Kimball Gallery on Arlington St." The reverse of the frame also bears a label from the Kimball Gallery.
