ProvenanceThe donor's mother, Jeanne Denker, an amateur stained glass artist, lived in the same county [Rockland County, New York] as the artist, and probably purchased the bowl directly from him. The vessel may have been purchased as early as 1950, but it was given to the donors about 1970. 2001: given to MFA by Elayne and Stephen Denker, Brookline, Massachusetts (Acquisition date: March 21, 2001).
