Description
In this later experiment with collage-like effects achieved through paint alone, Braque used black outlines to suggest volume and shadow in the spherical forms of peaches and grapes. But he layered these with other elements—the semi-transparent pears, the combed wood-grain tabletop—that remain insistently flat.
