ProvenanceJonkheer Hendrik Tedding van Berkhout (b. 1830 - d. 1904; Lugt 1379), Haarlem; by descent to his daughter, Mrs. S. de Stuers [See note]; June 18, 1908, probably sold with other Tedding van Berkhout duplicates, Frederick Muller & Co., Amsterdam. Eleanor A. Sayre, Cambridge, MA; 2002, bequest of Sayre to the MFA.

Note: The collection was kept in the possession of Tedding van Berkhout's son, Jonkheer Hendrik Tedding van Berkhout (b. 1879 - d. 1969). In 1903, Tedding van Berkhout became deputy director of the Rijksprentenkabinet, Amsterdam, and in 1913, the director.
