Description
Illustrated Bartsch describes four states of this series, the second with the address of Salamanca, the third with the reworking by Villamena, and the fourth with the address of Losi in place of Salamanca's. These addresses appear only on the first plate in the series (Saturn, B.24), so in fact the rest of the plates exist in only two distinguishable states. This impression is a Losi printing, as it is on paper identical to that of the Losi printing of the Saturn (accession number B819.1).
ProvenanceWilliam Perkins Babcock, Boston, Paris (1826-1899); his bequest to the MFA 1900
