Description
This model, and the related, 50-ton frigate displayed nearby probably were made by a prisoner of war in England during the Napoleonic Wars (1793-1815).
ProvenanceSaid to have been made by a French sailor in the prison at Dartmoor, Devonshire, England (after 1806), to Charles Hitchcock Tyler by 1933, to the MFA in 1933.
