ProvenanceSaid to have belonged to a Miss Legree, who married into the Johnson family; descended in the family to Margaret Brewer Johnson by 1870; purchased at a sale of her property by her daughter Mary Rogers (Johnson) Drew; her son Joseph N. Drew, from whom the piece was bought by the collector Pauline Revere Thayer; given by her to the Museum in 1935.
