ProvenanceCaptain John Rawlins of England and Boston married as his second wife the widow Love (Prout) English (1677-1743), whose inventory included "A Tankard 24 oz. 16 dwt." which, allowing for differences in scales, might have been this one; their daughter Love (b. 1709), m. Benjamin Pickman of Salem, 1731, whose son Benjamin (1740-1819), m. Mary Toppan (1744-1817) (his inventory [1819] included "2 tankards" 29-10, 24-10, one of which was probably the present piece); their youngest child, Love Rawlins Pickman (b. 1786, d. unmarried, 1863); her brother Benjamin (1763-1843), m. in 1789 Anstiss Derby (1769-1836); their daughter Anstiss Derby Pickman (1793-1856), m. John W. Rogers in 1815; their daughter Martha Pickman Rogers (1829-1905), m. June 1, 1850 John Amory Codman (1824-1886) their daughter Martha Catherine (b. July 24, 1858), m. February 2, 1928, Maxim Karolik.
