InscriptionsBack of drawers numbered in graphite corresponding to drawer supports: 1 through 6. Inner drawers of desk numbered 23 and 24. Branded "T.G. / T.G." on top of outside of rear PL post. Pencil inscription on back of gallery, "No. 72" and other illegible notations Drawer blades numbered in pencil from bottom up.
ProvenanceOwned originally by three generations of the Bancroft family, some of whom were involved in the furniture business in the firm of Bancroft and Dyer of Boston; purchased by the dealer from a family descendant in Belmont, Massachusetts; 1985, purchased from Paul Weiner Antiques, Boston, Massachusetts (Accession Date November 27, 1985)
