Employing an intuitive and spontaneous approach to woodworking, Peterson creates using his signature approach that results in rough-hewn, textual qualities in his work. The gently curved form of "Arch" is notable for the jagged and irregular edges that top each vertical segment, likening it to slabs of quarry stone. Peterson believes his work is a result of collaboration with the wood itself, allowing its “voice” to mingle with his own artistic expression through the carving process.
