Description
Jimmy Stephen-Cran, a fashion designer and a professor at the Glasgow School of Art, explores retro fashion, including lace- and beadwork in his artistic and academic practice. In Dress, he reinterprets mid-twentieth century embroidery, breathing life into the garment through intricate and graceful floral motifs. Embroidery is one of Stephen-Cran’s favorite techniques. To him, it offers an inexpensive way to revive old or plain garments and transform them into something luxurious.
