Description
Two prints by the Italian Renaissance engraver and ornament designer, Enea Vico, were given in memory of Tracey Albainy, the much admired former curator of European decorative arts and sculpture, who passed away in December, 2007.  In one engraving, a thirsty dog, who takes the place of a handle, peers into a pitcher.  In the other, the pitcher's handle is composed of an eagle's talons, which rest on the chest of a fantastical sea nymph.  The whimsical charm of Vico's inventions in the antique style would have delighted the curator.
