[1] He lent this to the Exposition d'Orfèvrerie Française Civile du XVIe siècle au début du XIXe (Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, April 12 - May 12, 1926), cat. no. 403. [2] According to notes in the MFA curatorial file. Edmond Fouret was president of the Librairie Hachette, which had been founded in the nineteenth century by his great-grandmother's husband, Louis Hachette (b. 1800- d. 1864). Hachette's grandson (and Fouret's distant cousin) was also named Louis Hachette (b. 1870 - d. 1941).
