NOTE:
Auguste was an independent goldsmith who worked on Napoleonic commissions. After he went bankrupt around 1809, the Maison Odiot bought many of his drawings. The Design for a Candlestick was lent by the Maison Odiot to the exhibition “Odiot. Maître-Orfèvre du XIXe siècle,” October 6 - 14, 1975, no. 59.
