ARMORIALS: engraved on the base, the crest and motto of the Wyse family of Ireland (in Loughrea until 1876); Thomas Wyse, County Inspector in Loughrea, married Laetitia Bonaparte, daughter of Lucien Bonaparte (who was brother of Napoleon) in 1821 (from donor's letter citing Thom's Irish Almanac and Official Directory for the UK of GB and Ireland for the year 1878), Thomas Wyse died in 1876 (from letter from AN Bonaparte Wyse, 15 Jan 1934). MOTTO: Sapere aude. BRANCH: MARKS: on the bezel of both waxpans (but not central extinguisher), maker's mark I.GREEN & Co. (2 keys crossed to the right) in a rectangle (Bradbury1912,p445). Also, on 1 bezel, partly obscured by the I.GREEN mark, is IOHN in a rectangle (part of Bradbury1912, p444). In the bottom of all 3 nozzles,stamped"M".
