InscriptionsExtended description quoting Llewllynn Jewitt's "The Wedgwoods: Being a Life of Josiah Wedgwood" (London, 1865), pp. 321 and 364 is inscribed in ink on paper attached to the back of the frame. Added to it is a note initialed by the donor ("GWW"): "This one is not jasper but of biscuit"
