Description
Bustelli is most famous for the sixteen figures from the commedia dell' arte which he modeled at Nymphenburg about 1759. The commedia dell' arte, a form of improvisational theater popular throughout eighteenth-century Europe, featured stock characters, such as Donna Martina, wife of the self-important Doctor.
