Provenance1957, "Mme. Leprince Antonie," probably Alix of Luxembourg, Mme. Le Prince Antoine de Ligne (b. 1929 - d. 2019), Brussels; November 19, 1957, anonymous (Mme. Le Prince Antoine) sale, Palais de Beaux Arts, Brussels, lot 96 [see note 1]. By 1960, private collection, Germany [see note 2]. By 1970, Herbert Girardet (b. 1910 - d. 1972), Essen [see note 3]. 1998, Charles Roelofsz (dealer), Amsterdam [see note 4]. March 1998, sold by Simon Dickinson Ltd., London, to Susan and Matthew Weatherbie, Boston.

NOTES:

[4] According to Eisele 2000 (as above, note 1).
