Born Jan. 9, 1913 in Yorba Linda, Calif. Graduated from Whittier College in 1934 and Duke University Law School in 1937. Married Pat Ryan on June 21, 1940 at Riverside, Calif. and the have 2 daughters, Patricia (Tricia) and Julie. Served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Elected to Congress in 1946 and to the U.S. Senate in 1950. Elected Vice President of the United States of America in 1952 and 1956 along with President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
