Provenance1940, left by the artist in Paris, where it was cared for by his dealer, Jeanne Bucher (b. 1872 – d. 1946) and his brother, Rubin Lipchitz (b. 1908 – d. 1993); after about 1953, retrieved by the artist and taken to Hastings-on-Hudson, NY; given by the artist to his stepson, Hanno D. Mott, New York; 2020, consigned by Hanno Mott to Martha Richardson Fine Arts, Boston; 2020, sold by Martha Richardson Fine Arts to the MFA. (Accession Date: October 7, 2020)
