Will Barnet

"Barnet, a Massachusetts native and one of the most esteemed alumni of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, passed away on November 13, 2012 at the age of 101. Best known for his figurative paintings and prints, often of women and children, Barnet executed his works in a rigorous, simplified style. Throughout his long career he inspired and influenced many fellow and aspiring artists, and will continue to do so. “At the age of 10 or 12," he said, "I discovered that being an artist would give me an ability to create something which would live on after death."
