M. Murray Leibowitz, a noted architect and longtime resident of Boston, died at home on Thursday. He was 96. He was born in Newark, a son of immigrants from Romania. He was educated in Newark public schools and graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, now Carnegie Mellon University, with a degree in architecture in 1926. Mr. Leibowitz's post-graduate work was done at Columbia University, the Art Student League, and L`Ecole des Beaux Arts in Fontainebleau, France, where he won a first-place award for his work. One of his Beaux Arts renderings of this period, a night-lit charcoal and pencil rendering of a sky scraper, is in the collection of Boston's Museum
