Antonio López

Lopez was born in Puerto Rico. His family moved to NYC in 1950. His talent for drawing caught the eye of his teachers. He was sent to the High School of Art and Design, and from there he went to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). While studying there he worked at Fairchild on a work-study program, and by the early 1960s his work was well known enough for him to free-lance for the

best fashion magazines. At FIT he met his life-long partner, Juan Ramos, who was the business brains behind Antonio's

commercial success.
