Hall and SellersAmerican, 1766–1804

Founded by David Hall (born in Scotland, 1714-12/24/1772), Benjamin Franklin's former partner, and William Sellers (born in England, 1725-1804). The firm began with their partnership in May 1766 and continued after David Hall's death until the death of William Sellers in 1804. When David Hall died his sons William Hall (died 1813) and David Hall, Jr. (born 1734) became Sellers's partners and kept the firm name. When Sellers died the firm was operated under the names of William and David Hall [Jr.]. See the History of Printing in America by Isaiah Thomas, 1810, and 1874.
