Noam ElyashivIsraeli (active in U.S.), born in 1963

Noam Elyashiv is an artist + a contemporary Jeweler whose work has been exhibited and published internationally. Through composing form-related work, she explores interactions between line, plane and volume. She holds an MFA degree from Rhode Island School of Design, and a BFA degree from Bezalel Academy of Art & Design, Jerusalem, Israel. She has won several artist awards including the Rhode Island State Council for the Arts Fellowship, and the America Israel Cultural Foundation Award. She was an AJF speaker in SOFA NY. In 2017 she was a resident artist at Mass MoCA, creating mostly work-on-paper. Noam's body of work conversation, exhibited at Galerie Marzee 2018, documents transitions between shapes drawn on paper to objects that reside on the body. It is a close observation of formal gestures that occur in response to relocation and gravity, as a shape emerges into a dimensional phase. Noam is a faculty at RISD since 1994, teaching at both the Graduate and Undergraduate programs.
