Verlag Karl Lang

Founded in Munich, September, 1915, as a publishing house for literature. Purchased in 1919 by Hans Theodore Joel (1893-1936), a relative of Minna Beckmann-Tube, first wife of Max Beckmann. Joel was a journalist and editor of Der Weg. Joel moved the firm to Darmstadt (Wilhelmstrasse 4).
