Kahlil G. Gibran

Born 1922, in Boston, to Rose and Nicholas Gibran.

1930-40 Worked with his father, a cabinet maker and craftsman

1940-43 Studied at SMFA, with Karl Zerbe. Wins scholarships and prizes

The philosopher and poet was his cousin, godfather, and namesake.

1944, 1945 Worked as draftsman at Underwater Sound Laboratory, Harvard University

1945 Established studio in Boston

1955 Starts making welded sculpture
