LaMont Warner studies at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York with Arthur Wesley Dow (1857-1922). He graduated with a degree in design in 1898. Warner started working for Gustav Stickley in September 1900. From 1897, Warner kept a large files of clippings of images of contemporary French, German, Austrian and American designs, many from the International Studio magazine and most of them British-- became his source for inspirition while designing for Stickley. Worked for Stickley until late 1906.
