Arlene Adams
According to information emailed by Gerald roy of Warner, NH on June 17, 2014:
Maker of the Tumblers Quilt.
Arlene Adams
Edenburg, PA (near Hamburg, PA)
Born the eldest child of a large family about 1900.
Her mother died when Arlene was in her early teens.
She assumes the role of mother and raises her brothers and sisters.
Her father evidently had an alcohol problem.
Arlene never married and lived in the family home until her death.
She never worked outside of the home but a neighbor worked in a garment factory which suggests where the fabrics came from in her quilts.
After her death the contents of the home went to auction.
Supposedly there are three other quilts.
One was purchased at the auction by a neighbor the other two are in the hand of one of the family members.
