Ernest Gerlach started Cellini as a small metal shop in Evanston, IL. In 1934 they began using aluminum, calling the line "Argental." Aluminum pieces are sometimes marked with an "MW" for their East Coast distributor, Max Willie. In 1957 the Randahl Company purchased Cellini-Craft (partly to acquire its metalsmiths). In 1965 Reed & Barton purchases Randahl's designs.
