Mustafâ el-KütâhîOttoman, 18th century
Mustafâ (Muṣṭafā) of Kütahya was also known as Şeyh-zâde ("son of the shaykh") but was in fact the nephew, not the son, of Shaykh Halil (Khalil) Efendi. He studied theology first with his uncle and then with Konevi (of Konya) Mehmed Efendi, imam of the Fatma Sultan mosque, whose daughter he subsequently married. He also studied calligraphy with Ibrahim Rodosi (of Rhodes), but that was after he had first studied with and received his calligrapher's license from Beypazarlı (of Beypazarı) Müsta‘itzâde Süleyman Efendi. He was well respected in his day, and was still alive at the time Müstakîm-zâde completed his biographical dictionary in 1787.
