Mehmed Şehrî b. İsma’il, known as Usturacı-zâde (son of the razor-maker) was born in İstanbul and studied thulth and naskh with Mehmed Giridî (of Crete). He followed the style of Hafız Osman and copied the Qur’an three times, in addition to numerous other manuscripts and single pieces. He died relatively young in 1153 AH (1740 CE).
