Sayyid Meḥmed VehbīOttoman, died 1731–32
Sayyid Meḥmed Vehbī, known as Sarrāc-zāde (son of the harness-maker), practiced calligraphy in the city of Edirne. He was a student of Sayyid ‘Abdullāh Efendī of Yediḳule – a student of Ḥafıẓ ‘Os̱mān – and then of ‘Alī Konevī (of the city of Konya), from whom he received his license in 1102 A.H. (1690–91 A.D.). He died in 1144 A.H. (1731–32 A.D.)
