ProvenanceAlthough the initials are not Hurd's engraving, the salver could have belonged to Abigail May, who gave it to her daughter Sophia (1784-1870_ who married Edward Tuckerman III as his second wife; descended in the family to Mrs. Orton Loring Clark (Margaret Tuckerman), from whom it was bought.
