If they are read towards the bowl as IW, they are for Jacob Wendell, father of Oliver. Mary and Oliver's daughter Sarah m. 1801 Rev Abiel Holmes; their son Oliver Wendell Holmes, m. 1840 Amelia Lee Jackson [the initials on the rim. Amelia was also Mary's great-niece]; their son Oliver Wendell Holmes m. 1861 Fanny Dixwell; his nephew Edward Jackson Holmes.
