Regency furniture was frequently produced in luxurious materials with veneers of zebrawood, mahogany, and rosewood, and often embellished with patinated and gilt mounts. A purely British invention, this sofa table may have been used for writing, dressing, or intimate dining, making its sleek form suitable for domestic use.
