Using materials we may not associate with studio furniture—steel, aluminum, automotive finish—Beer references the way craft and handwork is a part of popular culture. We might look at this piece and think of the hand-work necessary to restore the sleek surface of a classic hot rod or to form the curvature of a couture high heel.
