Admiral LORD JELLICOE, G.C.B., O.M., G.C.V.O., who was given Chief Command of the Grand Fleet on the outbreak of war, August, 1914, and was in supreme Command at the Battle of Jutland. He became First Sea Lord of the Admiralty in December, 1916, and retired in December, 1917.

He commanded the Dover Patrol from 1915 to 1918, when he became Controller of the Munitions Inventions Department.
