Description
This spare, elegant drawing of a young woman with her arms folded offers a strong example of the Italian sculptor Emilio Greco’s draftsmanship. The emphasis on geometric form and the confident application of line, richly cross-hatched in some areas and minimal in others, echoes his sculptural technique. Greco belonged to a community of modern figural artists that included sculptors Giacomo Manzu and Marino Marini.
